Can I bring my pet dog?

Yes! We would love you to bring your pet dog, and allow up to 2 well-behaved dogs per stay. There is a small extra charge for this, which is paid at the time of booking.

Is firewood included? 

​

Yes! We include plenty of firewood and sticks for your stay, and there should be plenty. If you need any more please get in touch.

How far is The Fold from the car parking area?

​

The Fold is approximately a 5-7 minute walk from the car parking area, ensuring a truly remote stay. We provide a wheelbarrow to help with your luggage. The walk is through a grass field and sensible footwear is advisable.

I see The Fold is off-grid  - what electrical appliances can I use?

Whilst The Fold is off-grid and the electricity is provided entirely by solar panels and batteries, we have done our best to ensure that this doesn't cause any inconvenience. Power is available via several USB ports throughout the hut both via "regular" USB A ports and also USB C ports. Unfortunately it will not be possible to plug in any 240v appliances with a UK mains connection (e.g. hairdryers). We can provide most USB cables types if you are short.

Is the water potable?

What cooking equipment is there?

​

The is a twin gas hob inside the Shepherd's Hut. In additional to this it is possible to cook over the firepit on the grill. You will find all the usual cooking utensil and pots and pans etc.
